Smack-dab in the middle of downtown, though off-set from the main tourist zone, Hotel 1000 serves as a great home base for tourists or business travelers. It’s a few blocks from the waterfront and less than a 10-minute walk from some of Seattle’s biggest draws, such as the Pike Place Market and the Seattle Art Museum. Most notably, and in true Seattle form, it’s one of the most tech-savvy hotels in the city, with gadgets like in-room sensors so guests are never disturbed by housekeeping, phones that check the weather and make dinner reservations, and a state-of-the-art virtual golf club for on-demand golfing, rain or shine.

Personal touches -- complimentary Champagne at check-in; a friendly, accommodating staff; and a complimentary local car service -- balance out the gadgets to make this a “chic and modern yet warm and inviting” (Fodor’s) place. On-site BOKA Restaurant + Bar serves a menu of mostly organic and sustainably produced local goods like Alaskan Weathervane sea scallops, or Skagit River Ranch pork shoulder paired with an extensive selection of Pacific Northwest wines. The hotel’s happy hour runs from 2:30-6 pm and extends to Suite 1000, the cozy lobby bar.

Rooms are large and comfortable, but bathrooms steal the show with floor-to-ceiling views of the city, soaking tubs that fill from the ceiling and luxe Molton Brown bath products. It’s worth it to ask for a room with a view, as others can be a bit dark.

From the press:
  • “Apart from its gadgetry, though, the 1000 is quite simply a beautiful hotel” -- Travel + Leisure
  • "The hotel exudes a decidedly laid-back Pacific Northwest ambiance, while remaining polished, hip, and dare we say, cool” -- Forbes
  • Chic and modern yet warm and inviting, these luxurious tech-savvy rooms are full of surprising touches” -- Fodor’s
