Hotel Prinsenhof is a small, refined, romantic 4-star hotel in a former mansion in historic downtown Bruges – now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's a 6-minute walk from the hotel to the bustling Markt plaza and its famous belfry. The hotel won the TripAdvisor 2015 Travellerss Choice Award for Best Small Hotel in Bruges and Belgium, with seconds in the Most Romantic Hotel in Bruges and Best Service categories, and has consistently won similar TripAdvisor awards since 2006.
The atmospheric city centre is steeped in history, with mediaeval buildings, cobbled streets and canals galore. The nearby Markt (central market plaza) features horse-drawn carriage rides and 17th-century houses converted into cafés and restaurants, as well as a 13th-century belfry with a 47-bell carillon and 83-metre-high tower with panoramic views over the city. Visit the hotel's Prinsenhof Butler website for advice on shopping, dining, nightlife, museums and attractions from a local perspective. For a short day trip, you can visit the history-laden Flemish port city of Antwerp (about an hour's drive from the hotel, or 1.5 hours by train from Brugge train station -- a 16-minute walk from the hotel). Book lovers will want to visit trendy Damme, which you can reach by paddleboat from the city centre via the 12th-century canals -- a must-do while in Bruges (a return ticket costs 11€/£9; or take the no 4 bus from the Markt, which leaves every 20 minutes).

From the train station, the hotel is a 17-minute walk via the Noordzanstraat, or you can take a taxi, which costs £8-£9 and takes four minutes.
