More Room Types

The Daily Telegraph raves about the Hotel du Vin & Bistro Bristol, describing the location as "ideal" and its French restaurant as "fantastic"; it also describes it as "Bristol’s most stylish hotel".

The property is off one of Bristol’s busiest streets -- Colston Avenue -- and it’s a 5-minute walk from Broadmead and a 12-minute walk to Cabot Circus -- home to a range of shops, including House of Fraser and Marks & Spencer. Colston Hall, the Bristol Hippodrome Theatre and St Peter's Church are within 10 minutes.

The hotel's Bistro du Vin restaurant serves a range of classic French bistro dishes, along with steaks and salads -- we particularly like the sound of chicken Cobb salad and hearty steak frites -- and there’s an impressive wine list to accompany the food. There is also a terrace for al fresco dining.

This hotel is in an 18th-century, Grade II-listed former sugar warehouse, and many of the building’s original features have been retained, including high ceilings, exposed brickwork and cast-iron pillars.

There are 40 rooms in total, and each one has a mini bar, Egyptian cotton bed linen, a roll-top bath and a television with a DVD player. Those on lower floors can be a little noisier as nearer to the street and restaurant. There are also four larger split-level suites named after vintage champagnes, with bathrooms hidden away on a mezzanine. According to The Daily Telegraph, "the best room is the Harvey’s loft suite, which has its own roof terrace". Wi-Fi is free throughout.
