The stylish 4-star hotel Queens Hotel is a landmark hotel in the heart of Leeds, overlooking City Square. It has reputedly hosted famous guests including Nelson Mandela, Princess Grace of Monaco and Michael Caine.
This glamorous art deco-style hotel was built in 1937, and is next to Leeds train station, which the AA describes as a "legacy from the golden age of railway". It is a 2-minute walk from Trinity Leeds, home to 120 shops, restaurants and bars, and Victoria Quarter, which has 72 shops -- including Harvey Nichols, Vivienne Westwood and Louis Vuitton designer stores -- is also within walking distance.
The hotel has a grand ballroom -- an echo of a bygone era of luxury -- and The Daily Express says its lobby "oozes 1930s opulence with cornicing, striped carpets and mirrors". Breakfast is served in The Queens Grill, and in the evening, guests can dine in The Queens Bar, which features chandeliers on the ceiling and walls lined with art deco pictures. The Queens Bar also features an impressive wine and cocktail list.
All 215 bedrooms have flat-screen televisions, bathrobes, slippers, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. In the upgraded rooms, you will find free bottled water and mini fridges. The hotel also has 16 suites; King Suites have separate living areas, iPod docking stations, and hospitality tray with complimentary bottle of red wine and snacks. Guests staying in 8th-floor QClub suites add access to the Executive Lounge, which has a private heated terrace and offers free drinks, nibbles and newspapers.

If driving to Leeds via the M62 or M1, leave the motorway at Junction 3 from the M621 and follow the A653/Dews Road towards Leeds station. Valet parking is available in the hotel's secure car park, although a nightly charge of £15.95 applies.
