Reopened in 2013 after a 7 million euro upgrade, The Morrison Hotel is “absolutely central” and has a “buzzing, youthful and decidedly trendy vibe”, says The Daily Telegraph. The décor employs leather, white walls and a variety of purples and turquoises.
The hotel is on the banks of the River Liffey and just across the water from the lively Temple Bar area. It’s also within walking distance of the shops on Henry Street and Grafton Street. Other nearby attractions include the Guinness Brewery and the Jameson Distillery. The Morrison is also on the Red Line of Dublin’s tram system (LUAS), so guests looking to get further afield can easily get to Dublin’s main train stations, Connolly and Heuston.
The on-site bar Quay 4 bills itself as a “destination bar”, with an extensive drinks menu of cocktails, Irish whiskeys and domestic craft beers. There is also live music every Friday and Saturday nights. The restaurant Morrison Grill overlooks the River Liffey and has a Spanish Josper Coal Grill Oven that heats up to 350°C and is used for their steaks.
The rooms are modern and a good size, with free Wi-Fi, complimentary bottled water and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Upgrade to a 1-bedroom suite for more space and a separate living room.
