Lanier Islands is an activity-filled destination that offers something for all guests. Amidst dense foliage, the expansive resort is surrounded by the pristine waters of Lake Sidney Lanier. The picture-postcard location is a great choice for families looking to be immersed in nature and take part in outdoor activities. Golf, hiking, zip-line tours and horseback riding are just a few of the options for being active year-round.
At the epicentre of the resort is the Legacy Lodge, which resembles a massive log cabin. Inside the lodge the log cabin feel continues with exposed natural wood and rustic furnishings. Guest rooms are cosy with large windows for plenty of light and a private balcony. Or opt for a villa; they face the lake and add extra privacy. Lake houses are best for big groups and include a deck with a barbecue.
If it's too cold for outdoor treats, the resort has a variety of seasonal and year-round dining options. There are two restaurants inside the Legacy Lodge, Windows and Bullfrogs, serving traditional southern fare. Gianni's Italian Bistro and Sunset Cove are two outdoor seasonal restaurants.
An unrivalled golf experience is waiting, the layout traverses a natural setting with twelve scenic holes on the water. Along with the expansive golf course, the resort also offers use of the fitness centre and 30 miles of hiking trails. Make sure to try the stunning, heated saltwater pool, available year-round.
Lanier Islands changes things up seasonally, and this winter is no different. The resort will put on its annual lighting show and transform their rides into a winter playground called SnowWorld. Rides, hot chocolate, tube riding and other fun activities are available for children and adults.
