Listed in The Times' Cool Hotel Guide and championed by GQ magazine as one of the best hotels in Edinburgh, No11 offers boutique accommodation in a 192-year-old Georgian townhouse. Condé Nast Traveller calls it "Edinburgh's elegant newcomer" since its opening in 2013 when it unveiled a fusion of modern and traditional décor, complemented by original 19th-century features.

The hotel is 10 minutes' walk from Edinburgh's New Town, a cultural area known for its stunning Georgian architecture. You'll stay within walking distance of the Playhouse Theatre and Scottish National Portrait Gallery, while the shops of Princes Street and Edinburgh Castle are both just over a mile away and can be reached by car or bus. The well-connected Edinburgh Waverley train station is less than 15 minutes' walk from the hotel and Edinburgh International Airport is a 30-minute drive away.

No11 boasts some of the finest features of the Georgian era including ornate cornices, central ceiling roses and a heavy portico front entrance with solid stone Doric columns. Designed by famous Scottish architect William Playfair in 1822, the hotel has retained many original features, such as the wrought iron balustrades along the grand staircase. The entrance hall leads through to a restaurant and a guest lounge on the ground floor with a private garden to the rear. Described as "highly original" by The Times, the No11 brasserie specialises in tapas dishes that use Scottish ingredients, including cured meats sourced from the Highlands and breads baked in Leith.

Condé Nast Traveller praises the hotel's 10 "elegant" rooms spread over four floors, which feature "state-of-the art bathrooms and vast, fling-wide-open sash windows". The spacious Executive Rooms feature King-size beds and the ensuites have large double showers, demisting mirrors and underfloor heating. Upgrade to a Mini Suite for extra space, a seating area and a sofa bed. For the ultimate in luxury, book one of the large Georgian Suites, which include 4-poster beds, floor-to-ceiling sash windows, a seating area and marble ensuites which GQ magazine describes as "vault-like" with "roll-top baths big enough for two."

From the press:

  • "No11 Brunswick Street merges modern with tradition -- 4-poster beds and Victorian antiques sit alongside vault-like marble ensuites" -- GQ magazine

  • "The Georgian property [has been restored] to its former glory, grandiose portico, ionic columns and all" -- Condé Nast Traveller
