More Room Types

Ocean views from almost every room, a rainforest setting and luxury condo accommodations create the complete “pura vida” experience at The Preserve at Los Altos. Translated as the "pure life" or "good life," it’s a slogan that is repeated often here.

The 28-unit property is perched on a hillside facing the Pacific Ocean in Manuel Antonio in southwest Costa Rica (two and a half hours from San Jose). The main attractions here are the white-sand beaches and Manuel Antonio National Park, where visitors can spot monkeys, sloths, iguanas and tropical birds. Civilization is also close by -- several cafés, restaurants and a bank are just a two-minute walk up the road. The town of Quepos is five minutes away by car.

Accommodations are extremely spacious and consist of three- and four-bedroom units. There are a mix of bedroom configurations (king beds, two twin beds, etc.) and multiple balconies. All have modern appliances, sleek bathrooms, state-of-the-art kitchens and free Wi-Fi.

Days begin with breakfast on the expansive patio at Karola's restaurant overlooking the ocean. Lunch, dinner and daily happy hour (4-7pm) are also served here. There is a private beach, accessible via a steep rainforest path. If you aren't up for the hike, the hotel can shuttle you there and back in a golf cart. Or, a freshwater infinity pool is built into the hill with a shallow end for kids. A spa offering a good mix of treatments is also on site.
