"The best way to explore Turkey's unspoilt south coast is by traditional wooden gulet", says The Guardian. You can do just that with this deal from The Co-operative Travel, saving up to 44% on the original price. For £399 per person you'll spend a week on board an atmospheric gulet -- a 2-masted wooden sailing boat.
Here's what the package includes:
Departures are listed below:
For an extra £50, depart from Manchester or Bristol on 13 May. For an extra £100, depart from London Gatwick, Birmingham or Manchester on 18 May; Manchester or Bristol on 20 May; or London Gatwick on 1 June.
Itineraries vary across the different dates, with most sailings departing from Fethiye, an attractive port on the turquoise coast of Turkey. Stops include Cleopatra's Bay -- a half-submerged Greek monastery ruin where Cleopatra is said to have bathed -- and the ruins of Tersane Island, a deserted Greek village that you can explore on foot. You'll get many opportunities to swim and snorkel in the warm Turkish waters, including the postcard-pretty Boynuzbükü Bay.
The gulets offer comfortable accommodation and an experienced crew. Each boat measures around 90ft in length and all double/twin cabins are air-conditioned (limited hours, usually before dinner and in the evenings in hot weather) and have a private ensuite with a hand basin and fitted shower. The price includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, tea and coffee. Soft drinks are unlimited.
