The little-known emirate of Ras Al Khaimah -- "a vision of exoticism", according to The Daily Telegraph -- is widely touted as the next Dubai, which means that prices will soon start to rise. Go before they do -- at £699 per person, this 5-night holiday from British Travel Award-winners The Holiday Place is up to £500 cheaper than we've seen elsewhere.
Depart on select dates from 9-25 September, 2014; 1-30 June and 2-25 September, 2015.
It's an extra £100 per person to depart from 1 October-9 December, 2014; 11 January-12 July; 12-30 August, 2015**.
Travel from Manchester from an extra £30 per person or Glasgow from £50 more. See The Holiday Place's website for more information and exact dates.
The luxurious Rixos Bab Al Bahr -- which was named the Middle East's Leading All-Inclusive Resort at the World Travel Awards 2014 -- is set on a private beach on the man-made island of Al Marjan, in Ras Al Khaimah. There's a large outdoor pool, tennis, football and basketball courts, and a spa with a hammam. The brand-new resort also offers free pilates, yoga and dance classes.
The all-inclusive board covers alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, an in-room mini bar, access to the spa's facilities and the mojito bar, and meals at a selection of restaurants, including a fine-dining seafood restaurant and world restaurants serving South American, Turkish, Italian and pan-Asian food.
About Ras Al Khaimah
Ras Al Khaimah is "the most northerly emirate and the only one that claims the triple assets of mountains, desert and sea", says The Daily Telegraph. The Huffington Post recommends joining "an excursion into the desert where you'll find mile upon mile of wind-sculpted dunes, a dazzling landscape of timeless beauty".
Transfers & baggage
Return transfers are included with the exception of departures from 1 October-10 December, 2014 and 12 January-31 May, 2015 -- they can be added for an extra £40 per person. Checked baggage is included.
