Snap up a Mediterranean cruise on Cunard's 5-star Queen Elizabeth for £499 per person -- we've seen the same offer elsewhere for up to £900 more. The package includes a 1-way flight to Rome and a 10-night sailing with all meals and snacks back to Southampton.
Flights depart from London Gatwick, London Heathrow and Manchester on 29 November. After landing in Rome, guests can spend the day exploring this ancient, architectually-rich city, before boarding Queen Elizabeth. The ship sails to Livorno, Monte Carlo (best known for the Monaco Grand Prix and its glitzy casinos), Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Cadiz, before docking in Southampton.
With chandeliers and a sweeping staircase, Cunard's Queen Elizabeth, named by the Queen herself in 2012, has a luxurious feel. Onboard facilities include the Royal Spa, two swimming pools and a gym. In terms of entertainment there's the Royal Court Theatre, a casino and the Queens Room, which plays host to balls and tea dances. There is also a selection of restaurants and bars including the 2-tiered Britannia Restaurant, the traditionally British Golden Lion Pub and The Verandah, which serves French cuisine.
Cunard was voted Best Cruise Line at the British Travel Awards 2011 and Best Cruise Line -- Large Ships at the 2011 Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Travel Awards.
The price is based on two sharing a Britannia Inside Stateroom. Upgrade to a Britannia Oceanview Stateroom for £100 more; or a Britannia Balcony Stateroom for £200 more per person.
