Overnight stays in a 16th-century Irish estate that has previously hosted the likes of Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger are now 44% less than usual. At £129 (149€) per room, this package from the multi-award-winning Castle Leslie Estate includes:
Described as ''blissful'' by The Irish Independent, the castle was named the Best Boutique Hotel in Ireland at the 2012 Hospitality Ireland Awards. The 2-AA-Rosette restaurant was hailed as the Best Hotel Restaurant in Ulster 2011.
Set in 1,000 acres of Irish countryside, the estate compromises a 5-star castle and a 4-star Lodge -- a restored stable-courtyard that was named the Best Four Star Hotel in Ireland at the Hotel & Catering Gold Medal Awards 2012. There is a Victorian spa, an equestrian centre offering horse back riding lessons, the 2-AA-Rosette Snaffles Restaurant with hand-carved ceilings and old oak beams throughout and Conor's Bar, where you'll find an open fire, intimate corners and occasional traditional music.
The Superior Lodge rooms have deep roll-top baths, flat-screen TVs and some have views of the equestrian centre or woodland. The Castle Heritage Rooms are all individually designed.
Stay Sunday-Thursday from 1 March-30 June. Extra nights can be added for £99 (115€) on a B&B basis. This can only be booked on the phone.
