The family-run Hotel Alpina is a traditional Tyrolean-style property in the peaceful village of Schwendau. It's 4km from the resort of Mayrhofen, and a regular bus service connects with this and other neighbouring villages. The hotel has a garden, a terrace and a playground, and indoor facilities including a sauna and a steam room. There is a bar and a restaurant serving meals which make use of ingredients from the local area and from the property's own farm.
Mayrhofen and the surrounding Ziller Valley are home to over 200km of walking trails, with routes suitable for all abilities. Visitors can also explore the region by bike, take a more relaxing ride on a cable car for panoramic mountain views, or even try summer skiing on the Hintertux Glacier.
Travelzoo tip: Guests can choose from a range of guided walks in the area for 5€ per person, bookable locally from the Inghams representative.
