The seafront Riviera Resort & Spa is on the northern tip of the island, across from the islands of Gozo and Comino and surrounded by countryside. It's one kilometre from Mellieha Bay, Malta's largest sandy beach, and the ferry terminal to Gozo. Boats to the Blue Lagoon, on the island of Comino, depart from the pier opposite the hotel.
The hotel has two outdoor pools, a large sundeck, an indoor pool, a PADI-certified diving school, a gym and a squash court. Guests will also receive access at Hola Beach Club, a private beach just 100m from the hotel. There, guests get complimentary use of sunbeds, plus free soft and alcoholic drinks.
A favourite with sun-seekers, Malta has a lot more to offer than year-round sunshine, blue sea and sandy beaches. The popular Mediterranean island also scores highly when it comes to history and natural beauty. Fodor's praises the "Hulking megalithic temples, ornate baroque churches, narrow Old World streets, and hilltop citadels", as well as the "dizzying limestone cliffs, sparkling Mediterranean seas, and charming rural landscapes".
Return transfers are from £10 more and checked bags from £35 per bag. One child up to age 12 can travel for £199 when sharing a room with both parents.
