British Airways has cut the price of spring breaks to Europe and beyond as part of its current offers, and we've spotted a bargain break to Amsterdam for £149 per person among the offers. Amsterdam's the place to be in April -- the Rijksmuseum, the Dutch national museum, reopens after a 10-year refurbishment on 13 April, so we were delighted to see that this 2-night break covers April travel for up to 30% cheaper than we saw elsewhere. You can experience the city either during the run up to the reopening, or once the museum has started welcoming visitors again.
Depart from London Gatwick on select dates from 1-24 April with British Airways. Flights include a 23kg checked baggage allowance, free online check-in and seat selection 24 hours prior to departure. Accommodation is the 3-star Bastion Deluxe Hotel Amsterdam/Amstel, which is close to the Amsterdam Arena, home of the world-famous football team Ajax.
Book by 4 April.
If the reopening of the Rijksmuseum doesn't fit in with your travel plans, 2013 is also the 400th anniversary of the city's Canal Ring, while the Concertgebouw is celebrating its 125th anniversary with a series of special concerts. April is also one of the best times to see Holland burst to life with the multicoloured tulips that bloom in spring. Head to Keukenhof, just over an hour south-west of Amsterdam, which has well over a million flowering bulbs.
