The Daily Telegraph reckons that this is one of the best times of year to visit Rome, saying: "In winter, the marble and travertine edges are sharper, the colours are more vivid and the low-flying sun turns Rome into a huge baroque stage set." Plus, fewer tourists means shorter queues at the city's main sights such as Colloseum and the Roman Forum.
Guests will stay at the Executive Style Hotel, a 4-star property a couple minutes' walk from Villa Doria Pamphili, where you'll find the city's largest landscaped park. The nearest Metro station, Cornelia, is a short walk away, providing easy access to the Vatican and the rest of the Eternal City.
The hotel is built within the walls of a 17th-century monastery and his surrounded by landscaped gardens. All rooms are air conditioned and have satellite TV.
Checked bags are from £35 per bag.
