"Nevis is one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean," says The Daily Telegraph and "the climate is exceptionally inviting". This standout offer at £899 per person is a case in point -- arrive by speedboat and stay at a family-run hotel next to one of the "most secluded beaches in the world" (MSN), with flights included, for up to 42% less than we've seen elsewhere.
Depart from London Gatwick on Wednesdays from 2 November-7 December, 2016; 3 May-28 June; 30 August-4 October, 2017.
The family-run hotel is on the island's northwest coast, next to a sheltered white-sand beach lined with palm trees, hammocks and lawns. It has a private jetty where you'll arrive from the airport via speedboat transfer. Premier rooms are in cottages scattered along the beach and have a 4-poster bed and a private veranda with views of neighbouring St Kitts.
The restaurant is right on the beach and serves Caribbean cuisine made with local produce -- tuna and mahi-mahi are often delivered to the jetty by fishing boats. The hotel offers spa treatments at a supplement and there's free Wi-Fi. It also holds a TripAdvisor GreenLeaders Platinum Level award for its focus on sustainability, green practices and commitment to saving energy.
At 36 square miles, Nevis is easy to explore -- be sure to visit one of the old sugar estates and hike inland into the verdant forest. Pinney's Beach, known for its potent rum punch, is around 10 minutes' drive from the hotel, and if you head a little further you'll reach the island's small capital, Charlestown.
