Elegant Travel

Vietnam was tipped for big things in 2012 by National Geographic and Condé Nast Traveller, which meant a spike in the number of deals we've found recently for this destination. But one that also includes a visit to Cambodia's Angkor Wat, described as a "trip of a lifetime" by The Daily Telegraph, is a rare find -- tick off both for £1495 per person.

The package, which is over £900 cheaper than usual, includes:

  • Return international flights from London Gatwick and internal flights with Vietnam Airlines, plus checked luggage
  • Three nights at the Pacific Hotel & Spa in Siem Reap, Cambodia, with an upgrade to a Supreme Deluxe Room
  • Free Angkor Wat tour
  • Two nights at the Oscar Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with an upgrade to a Deluxe Room
  • Seven nights at the Sunrise Nha Trang Beach Hotel & Spa, with an upgrade to a Superior Sea View
  • Two nights at the Sunway Hotel Hanoi in a Superior Room
  • Daily breakfast

The 4-centre holiday starts in Siem Reap, at the Pacific Hotel & Spa. Winner of a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 2012, the hotel is six minutes from Angkor Wat and has a spa, a swimming pool and an Asian fusion restaurant. The included tour visits the temples of Angkor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site "matched by only a few select spots on Earth", according to Lonely Planet. We've been and we loved the tree-strangled temples of Ta Prohm, within the Angkor Wat complex.

Next, fly to Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon). The Oscar Saigon is a 5-minute drive from the sprawling Bến Thành Market, where you'll find everything from spices and handicrafts to Vietnamese coffee and street food stalls. We suggest a visit to the Củ Chi tunnels to see how the Viet Cong lived during the Vietnam War.

You'll then spend a week in Nha Trang in an award-winning hotel overlooking the bay. Take a trip to the Thap Ba hot springs, visit the Cham temples (remnants of an ancient Indian civilisation) or try some bird's nest soup, a local delicacy known as the "caviar of the East". The trip ends in Hanoi, Vietnam's capital, with a stay at the Sunway Hotel, 10 minutes from the Old Quarter.

Depart on Wednesdays from March, 2013-March, 2014. Click here for more information.

Transfers are not included and are an extra £90 per person, in total.

Book by 13 March.
