Vietnam made an appearance on National Geographic Traveller's Hot List last year and was named a Destination to Watch by Condé Nast Traveller. Find out why with this 13-night triple-centre escape for £1399 per person.
The package, which regularly costs £2185, includes:
Start in Hanoi, Vietnam's exotic capital -- which marked its 1000th anniversary recently -- with a stay at the Sunway Hotel, 10 minutes from the Old Quarter. From there, sail around stunning Halong Bay, with its 3000 limestone islands, deserted sandy beaches and floating villages, on a luxury junk boat.
Next, spend a week at the beachfront Centara Sandy Beach Non Nuoc Resort in Da Nang. Surrounded by green mountains and tropical gardens, the hotel offers a free shuttle service to Hoi An, the go-to place for tailored clothes. There are four UNESCO World Heritage Sites close to Da Nang.
In Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), where the trip finishes, we suggest a visit to the Củ Chi tunnels to see how the Viet Cong lived during the Vietnam War. The Oscar Saigon is a 5-minute drive from the sprawling Bến Thành Market, where you'll find everything from spices and handicrafts to Vietnamese coffee and street food stalls.
Depart on select dates from May until March 2014. Click here for more information.
Transfers are not included and are an extra £90 per person in total.
