The chance to experience China's ancient and modern wonders would normally call for a hefty outlay of cash, especially over New Year, but this package from RT Holidays saves £650 on the flights and hotels alone. For £1299 per person, explore three fascinating cities in the Far East, and get international and domestic flights, deluxe accommodation and guided excursions throughout.
In full, the deal includes:
Starting in Hong Kong, the tour includes visits to Victoria Peak for views across the entire city, as well as Stanley Market, where you can hunt down cheap souvenirs. Accommodation is at the Royal Pacific Hotel & Towers or The Kowloon Hotel, both close to Victoria Harbour and the Star Ferry (linking Hong Kong Island and Kowloon).
In Beijing, visits include Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City (an imperial palace that was off limits to the public for over 500 years), plus a day trip to the Great Wall of China. Accommodation is at the centrally located DoubleTree by Hilton, which has an indoor swimming pool and a rooftop garden.
The final stop is Shanghai, where guests can walk along the Bund -- a waterfront promenade with views of the city's skyline. A visit to the Shanghai Museum is included, and your base is the 5-star Renaissance Shanghai Yangtze Hotel, close to the trendy, tree-lined streets of the French Concession neighbourhood.
Valid for departures on 29 December; 13, 20 April. Travel on 9, 23 February for £999 per person; 26 January; 2, 9, 16, 23 March for £1099 per person; or 30 March; 27 April, 2014 for £1199 per person.
For an extra £199 per person, add on a 2-night trip to Xi'an to see the Terracotta Warriors, as well as a journey on the high speed bullet train from Xi'an to Beijing.
Here's the full intinerary, but the offer is only bookable by phone.
The price does not include a Chinese visa, which is £95 extra per person.
