Where to go right now

With our dedicated last-minute section, there's a reason we were recently named one of the 10 best last-minute travel websites by The Independent. And now that the school holidays have come to an end, we're seeing plenty of off-peak bargains appearing. For those without children, this is a great time to pick up something a little more adult friendly. Here are our top picks.

We'd like to suggest a break in Normandy -- a place where "fishing boats jostle with designer yachts in the harbour; and contemporary restaurants and chic boutiques sit alongside half-timbered houses", according to Lonely Planet. This distinctively glamorous deal from the Belle Isle sur Risle saves 59% on the usual rate and includes plenty of grown-up perks, such as a 5-course dinner in the Michelin-recommended restaurant, a welcome bottle of champagne and a free distillery tour.

For those after a hassle-free option, this all-inclusive week in Cyprus for £349 should turn some heads. While there, it’s worth checking out Ayia Napa Festival, which takes place from 27-29 September in the monastery on Sepheris Square. With concerts and theatrical performances taking place daily, it could be the just the ticket for those who missed out on the UK festivals this summer. Bear in mind too, The Daily Telegraph's assertion that "Cyprus's south coast is at its best in autumn" and you have yourself a last-minute snip.

Finally, here's one for anyone short on annual leave -- an autumn sales of West End tickets, including Saturday matinée performances, throughout September. Save up to 55% on top-notch musicals and comedies, such as "Thriller Live", "We Will Rock You" and "Spamalot”, now £29 and up. Plus, if you're travelling from further afield than the capital, here's some of our recommended London hotel deals.
