Awards season is officially in full swing, kicked off in typical West End-style by the Whatsonstage.com Awards on Sunday, 17 February. One of our favourite shows of 2012 -- the Whitney Houston extravaganza that is "The Bodyguard" -- took home the gong for Best New Musical and other winners included the inimitable Stephen Fry for Best Supporting Actor.

Best Takeover in a Role -- Ramin Karimloo for "Les Misérables"

Best New Play -- "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time"

Best New Comedy -- "The Ladykillers" by Graham Linehan

Best New Musical -- "The Bodyguard" by Alex Dinelaris

Best Regional Production -- "American Idiot" on tour

Best West End Show -- "Les Misérables"

Theatre Event of the Year -- Danny Boyle's Olympics Opening Ceremony
