The first three months of the year are a key time for cruise lines and cruise agents – and for you! After a few months of trying to offload unsold winter cabins, agents turn their attention to selling cruises departing in nicer weather: spring, summer and early autumn. This means a lot of sales and promotions get released to entice customers. This is known as Wave Season.
What’s great about Wave Season is how much choice you have. Most cruise lines will offer strong deals for a variety of voyages and cabin types. If you make the most of Wave Season deals, there’s no need to leave it to the last minute to score a bargain – the discounts are available on sailings throughout 2013.
This year is no different and we’re seeing very attractive offers including balcony upgrades, free upgrades to all inclusive or just high discounts (sometimes over 50% on the regular prices). There’s also a huge choice of itineraries. We found top deals to the Med, the Norwegian fjords, the Caribbean and even a bargain on a Great Barrier Reef cruise from Sydney to Singapore.
However, these offers are only here to attract early customers and won’t hang around for long. The promotions and sales will disappear or sell out, meaning prices will go back up soon. So it pays to book now.
