More flights for Scotland in 2014

Next spring, Glaswegians will have more options for getting to Iceland and North America thanks to Icelandair. The airline is adding a fifth weekly flight from Glasgow to Reykjavik starting on 7 April, 2014.

This is the second consecutive year Icelandair has increased its capacity from Glasgow, and this fifth weekly flight means an extra 7500 seats per year.

The extra flight is meant to strengthen Glasgow's connections to Iceland and Icelandair's list of North American destinations. The US and Canada are Glasgow's second- and third-largest international markets, according to Glasgow Airport.

If you're considering a trip to Iceland and want some tips on things to do when you get there, we recommend you read this.
