New Year is fast approaching, and with it comes a fresh new batch of annual leave. And while now’s the time to plan those summer holidays and big trips, it’s also the moment to take advantage of the last-minute deals that are up for grabs. What better month to cure those travel itches than January?
First up is last-minute ski. If you can stand the thought of leaving chilly Britain for even colder climes, we suggest this 4-star package to Andorra. For £379 per person, you get a week-long ski holiday with breakfast and dinner included. And, says our deal expert Will, "conditions have rarely been better for an early-season ski break in France", so we were surprised to find these short ski breaks in 4- & 5-star apartments starting at £259 per property. There’s availability until the end of January, so now’s a great time to book.
After a busy festive period, hotels need heads on pillows, so there’s a good crop of bargains to be had. One that caught our eye was an overnight stay in Devon’s Dartmoor National Park for £199 per room. Bovey Castle featured on Condé Nast Traveller's 2011 Gold List and The Daily Telegraph says its ''huge stone fireplaces, ornate panelling and squishy sofas make it one of the most comfortable places in Dartmoor''. Perfect for a cosy January stay.
