Five under £50, 18 Nov

Five of our favourite deals for £50 or less...

Reasonably priced London hotels are about as common as hen’s teeth. At least, that’s what we used to think, but in the last couple of weeks, there have been some great ones knocking about. The latest is this offer from the 4-star Tower Hotel, right next to Tower Bridge. For the equivalent of £44.50 per person, per night, you get a room (obviously), full English breakfast for two (worth £21.50 per person), a complimentary late checkout until 2pm and a 10% discount on all food and drinks bought in the hotel. Trust us -- stays in the capital don’t come much cheaper.

If the big smoke doesn’t appeal, you’ll probably find something more suitable among Barceló Hotels’ 21 properties across Britain. And with bed-and-breakfast prices now starting at £41.50 per room, per night, any day of the week, you’ll find yourself saving up to 50% along the way.

Fore! Yep, that’s our slightly cheesy way of warning you there’s a super-cheap golf deal headed your way: £35 for 18 holes for two people at top Essex club, Lords, with lunch and some range balls thrown in -- a whopping £65 off the usual price. It’s the perfect excuse to get out in the crisp autumn weather.

Of course, we appreciate that one person’s relaxing round of golf is another’s idea of hell. So how about something a little more sedate? Get down to the Bellissima Spa in Tanworth-in-Arden (just south of Solihull) and you can treat yourself to a spa package of your own creation. For £29, you can mix and match any treatments up the value of £60 -- facials, massages and manicures are all on the menu.

And now for something completely different. We’re pretty sure this is the first time these words have featured in any Travelzoo deal: a Spanish apartment deal for £47 a night with a free mushroom-picking trip included. One for all you mycologists out there.
