Book Now for Travel in 2013

As we wave goodbye to January and the evenings become that (teensy) bit lighter, we also wave goodbye to the many flight and holiday sales that we’ve seen since Boxing Day. But it’s not too late -- last minute means the biggest and best final reductions, with up to 46% off. We’ve rounded up the top deals for our budget-savvy subscribers.

Here are some of our favourites:

Described as one of Portugal's most "enchanting" medieval towns by Lonely Planet and a "jewel in its crown" by The Guardian, Evora in Portugal sounds like an idyllic short break hotspot. The deal we found is a 3-night stay including flights and car hire throughout for a modest £289 per person. History hounds will love the location, as the town centre is listed as a World Heritage Site and the hotel itself sits next to the 14th-century city walls.

Whether it’s a horse-drawn carriage through central park or shopping in the Upper East Side, the terms "New York" and "luxury" go hand in hand. Located on high-end Park Avenue, the legendary Waldorf Astoria in New York is a luxury city landmark in itself, with Frommer’s calling it "the epitome of old-school elegance".  With this in mind, it’s surprising that we’ve even managed to find a deal for a stay here in the first place, but what’s even more surprising is the deal’s jaw-dropping price of £649 per person -- that’s for a 3-night stay and British Airways flights from London Heathrow. We could hardly believe it either.

Savvy backpackers and adventure travellers have been trekking around exotic Vietnam for a while now. However, in recent years we’ve seen more high-end travel companies putting together beach breaks and city-hopping tours to this Southeast Asian gem. This deal from Elegant Travel and Tours is a prime example: it’s £1479 for 16 nights hotfooting around Vietnam, including all international and domestic flights. Start in Ho Chi Minh City, where we suggest taste-testing coffee or local grub at Bến Thành Market. It’s then on to top suit tailor-hub and beach city Hoi An before continuing to Hue for a boat trip on the Huong River. Finally, you’ll finish your introduction to Vietnam in the capital, Hanoi. The trip includes a cruise around photogenic Halong Bay, which featured in the James Bond film, "Tomorrow Never Dies".
