The Guardian says "Damned by Despair", a tale of intertwined fate and spiritual redemption, is "tremendous". Tickets to this production at London’s National Theatre are now £15 instead of the usual £32 -- a 53% saving on the usual price.
This new version of Tirso de Molina's original Spanish drama is vividly recreated for the stage by noted playwright and author Frank McGuinness and director Bijan Sheibani. Olivier Award-winning actor Bertie Carvel -- last seen in the West End playing the villanous Miss Trunchbull in "Matilda the Musical" -- plays murderous gangster Enrico, who apparently shares the same fate as a complete stranger, the saintly Paulo. But does this mean they are both damned?
Valid for all performances on 5-6 and 12-13 December, this offer is for a seat in the Stalls -- one of the best in the Oliver Theatre, which is part of the National Theatre complex. There are no extra booking fees.
"McGuinness's version glisters with invigorating wit... Fiendishly simple while being intellectually provocative" -- The Telegraph
