About the shows
The Royal Festival Hall will host a UK premiere of Offenbach's opera "Fantasio" this month. A comic opera in three acts, this rendition will star renowned female singer Sarah Connolly, who was recently awarded a CBE for her contribution to opera.
In January, the orchestra will be celebrating the music of composer Carl Philip Emmanuel Bach in a show titled "Gamechangers: A Forgotten Revolutionary". One of the many children of JS Bach, his unique style constantly surprises and wrong-foots the listener.
Two classic works make up the "Symphonic Greats" concert in April -- Beethoven's edge-of-seat "Symphony No 7" and Schubert's "Symphony No 9".
