About the show
Inspired by a true story that was made into a hit film in 2010, "Made in Dagenham" stars Hollywood movie actress Gemma Arterton ("The Duchess of Malfi" at the Globe Theatre, "Quantum of Solace", "Tamara Drewe") and is directed by Rupert Goold, the multi-award-winning artistic director of the Almeida Theatre.
Set in 1960s Essex, it tells the story of factory worker Rita O'Grady, who leads her friends in a battle against Ford Motors in a quest to obtain equal pay for men and women.
The musical's book is by Richard Bean ("One Man, Two Guvnors"), with lyrics by Olivier Award-winner Richard Thomas ("Jerry Springer the Opera") and music by award-winning composer David Arnold ("Hot Fuzz", "Sherlock", five of the "James Bond" series).
