About the show
Shakespeare's famous tale tells the story of a successful warrior who is seduced by power and, along with his wife Lady Macbeth, sinks into madness and despair. The tragedy was transformed by Verdi in 1847 and revised in 1865, and includes highlights such as the dramatic chorus "Patria Oppressa". Opera North revives its highly praised 2008 production for 2014. Sung in Italian with English titles.
"A fast, vivid, bloody and energetic Macbeth that grabs and keeps the audience's attention" -- The Daily Telegraph
