About the show
In addition to winning three Tony Awards in 2004 -- including one for Best Musical -- "Avenue Q" was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award in 2007. The show was a hit on Broadway when it opened in 2003 and has since gone on to enjoy a 5-year West End run and worldwide tours. Co-creator Robert Lopez also brought "The Book of Mormon" to the stage, as well as writing the songs in recent Disney blockbuster "Frozen".
We've seen "Avenue Q" and it is a genuinely original musical, featuring a hilarious cast of puppets and humans. A sort-of "Sesame Street" meets "South Park". But be warned; it's chock-full of strong language and the show has a 14+ age rating.
