Sail away to France for £199 per person and get in some early Christmas shopping with this mini cruise offer from Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. The package, which saves £130 on the brochure price, includes three nights on the Braemar, plus all meals and fuel supplements.
Braemar sets sail from Southampton on
23 November and visits Cherbourg and Honfleur before returning to Southampton. Cherbourg is a small city in the northwest of France, home to the 1,500-year-old Basilica of the Holy Trinity. Honfleur is set further east and is a 2-hour drive from Paris. The town boasts a pretty 17th-century harbour and a handful of museums and monuments.
The price is based on two people sharing an Inside Lower Cabin. Upgrade to an Inside Higher Cabin for £30 more or an Outside Lower Cabin for £50 more per person. Single Cabins are available for £329.
Braemar joined the Fred. Olsen fleet in 2001 and received a complete facelift in 2008, including the addition of the Observatory Lounge, the Grampian Restaurant, a new swimming pool and the Morning Light, a Scottish-themed pub.
The ship has a traditional feel with formal dinner at the two restaurants -- the Thistle and the Grampian -- plus an extensive programme of talks by guest speakers. Facilities include gaming tables, two Jacuzzis, a fitness centre, a beauty salon and a library.
