Cruise past massive glaciers, experience the midnight sun and search for polar bears on a 7-night voyage through the ice-covered Arctic Sea. At £2749 per person, this trip of a lifetime is £1000 less than we've found elsewhere and gets you much closer to the wildlife than the bigger, mainstream cruises.
Here's what you get:
The cruise starts in Longyearbyen, the largest settlement on the archipelago of Svalbard with a population of around 2060 people and almost as many snowmobiles. From there, the itinerary is flexible, in order to get the most from the ever-changing Arctic environment. You'll visit fjords with beautiful mountain scenery, cliffs fluttering with thousands of birds and spots where Arctic flora and fauna have thrived, despite the harsh weather.
Wildlife-spotting opportunities include polar bears hunting seals, walruses flopped out on sandy beaches and Svalbard's unique subspecies of reindeer, as well as Arctic foxes. You might also see the midnight sun, a natural phenomenon during which the sun is still visible in the middle of the night. All Category 3 Cabins and above on board the M/S Expedition have ensuite bathrooms and ocean views.
Depart on 18, 25 June.
There is no supplement for single travellers -- you'll be paired with another traveller in a twin cabin.
