Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has released a last-minute cruise around Spain and Portugal for £599 per person. The deal includes two weeks accommodation on Boudicca and works out at £43 per night. That's a saving of £800 on the brochure price.
Travel on 6 April. Boudicca sails from Portsmouth to Gibraltar, Barcelona, the old fishing port of Palamos (Spain), Mahon (Menorca), Portimao and Lisbon (Portugal) before returning to dock in Portsmouth. Frommer's calls Lisbon "one of Europe's most visually striking capitals" and Barcelona a "quirky, cosmopolitan and effortlessly cool" city that "breathes life".
The price is based on two sharing a 2-bedded cabin on a full-board basis. Outside Cabins are £699; Superior Outside Cabins are £749 and Deluxe Suites are £799 per person.
Boudicca is a mid-sized ship with lots of open deck space, gaming tables, a cabaret lounge and a library. There is a selection of restaurants and bars, including the formal Tintagel and Four Seasons, and the more casual Secret Garden Lounge.
There are also two outdoor swimming pools, two Jacuzzis, a sauna and steam room, a shuffleboard court and golf practice nets. In January, 2011, the ship underwent a refit and now features a new gym with sea views.
