The cruise begins in Barcelona, sailing to Palma (Mallorca), Malta, Catania (Sicily), Naples (pictured) and Savona (Italy), before returning to Barcelona. Described as "stunningly glitzy" by the Berlitz Complete Guide to Cruising & Cruise Ships, the entertainment on the Costa Favolosa is a highlight. There's a a 3D cinema and a casino, as well as a 3-tiered show lounge with LED lighting, a revolving stage and a Murano glass chandelier -- expect large-scale cabaret acts and high-energy performances. Other facilities include four swimming pools, a water slide, a spa with a gym, a thalassotherapy pool, treatment rooms and a Turkish bath.
The two main restaurants offer fine dining and there's also a self-service buffet and an Italian restaurant with a menu created by Michelin-starred chef Ettore Boccia.

Checked baggage and transfers are not included. Baggage costs from £28-£34 per person and transfers can be booked locally for approximately 25€ (£21). A compulsory charge of £6 (7€) per day will be added for gratuities on board.
