Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has just cut the price of a 14-night Baltic cruise. It's now £699 per person for a popular itinerary including the Kiel Canal and overnight stays in St Petersburg and Stockholm. This offer, which saves £930 on the brochure price, comes with a free upgrade to an Outside Cabin.
Departing from Southampton on 27 May, the second May bank holiday, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' Balmoral sails through the Kiel Canal to Gdansk (from Gdynia), then heads to St Petersburg (Russia), where the ship stays overnight, and Tallinn. The next stops are Stockholm for another overnight stay and finally Copenhagen, before the ship returns to Southampton.
The price is based on 14 nights' accommodation in an Inside Cabin with all meals and snacks included, and the free upgrade to an Outside Cabin. For an extra £100 per person, get a free upgrade to a Superior Outside Cabin.
Balmoral has a "European quality, style and character" says the 2013 Berlitz Guide to Cruising & Cruise Ships. The ship has four eateries, including the Ballindalloch Restaurant (the main dining room), the Spey Restaurant, the Avon Restaurant and the more casual Palms Café. Other onboard facilities include a saltwater swimming pool, a library, a fitness centre and the Neptune Lounge, which hosts cabaret shows and lectures.
