The Daily Telegraph describes Hurtigruten's cruises as "the best way" to see Norway. And now is a great time to book as the cruise line has just released a 2-for-1 offer on its voyages, meaning prices now start from the equivalent of £428 per person (£856 per cabin).
This cruise-only deal (based on two sharing an Inside Cabin) is valid for four different itineraries on select dates from 18 July-5 October. Here are the sailings included (prices are per person; flights are not included):
The best prices are available for sailings from 15 September-5 October. However, peak-season voyages from 18 July-14 September are also available with the 2-for-1 offer. All meals on board are included. Click here for more information.
The Daily Telegraph says that Norway is "home to historic ports, sites of important cultural interest and some of the world’s most incredible coastal scenery", adding that Hurtigruten takes you "closer to the country's people, landscape and wildlife".
Hurtigruten’s Norwegian coastal voyages are different to traditional cruising. Their smaller ships go into fjords and straits that are simply too narrow and shallow for large cruise liners, and take you to small, friendly towns that rely on the ships’ daily service. The emphasis is placed on experiencing the surroundings first-hand, so instead of casinos, West End shows and nightclubs, you'll find peaceful panoramic lounges, menus featuring fresh, locally-sourced foods and original pieces of artwork from Nordic artists
Hurtigruten can arrange flights from £450 per person based on London departures, including transfers. However, it might be cheaper to book flights independently. We found return flights to Bergen from £121 per person (excluding checked bags), using Fly.com.
