Cruisedirect.co.uk has cut more than £200 off the price of this transatlantic crossing onboard Cunard's luxury Queen Mary 2. The price is now £499 per person.

The cruise departs on the 12 December from Southampton and arrives in New York seven days later. The package includes flights back to the UK, transfers, seven nights accommodation in an Inside stateroom and all meals and snacks onboard.

The Queen Mary 2 offers 14 bars, including a traditional English pub, and a wide selection of restaurants. Highlights include afternoon tea with Cunard's traditional White Star Service, 24-hour complimentary room service, as well as workshops and shows. Sports facilities include fitness suites, a basketball court, a tennis court and a running track.
