Flying to one of Europe's most intriguing and historically significant capitals has just become significantly cheaper, thanks to easyJet. The carrier -- named the World's Leading Low-Cost Airline at the 2012 World Travel Awards -- now offers flights to Moscow from £116, return, including taxes and charges. That's less than half the cost of other carriers flying direct to the Russian capital from London.
The new service to the home of the Bolshoi Theatre and the Moscow State Circus begins on 18 March, with the best fares available in April and September (when prices are currently less than £130, return). September sees one of the country's largest contemporary art fairs -- Art Moscow -- take place in the Central House of Artists.
In December, easyJet also announced a new route between Manchester and Moscow. This service starts on 28 March, with fares from £85, return, in April.
A Russian visa is required for visiting Moscow.
Hand luggage is included. A checked baggage allowance can be added for £32 per bag.
