Tenerife is well served from airports across the UK meaning it is often possible to get cheap flight deals. The island has two airports, Tenerife South Reina Sofia (TFS) and Tenerife Norte (TFN). Most direct flights to Tenerife land in Tenerife Reina Sofia and this is the closest airport to the southern resorts. Also worth a visit for a more authentic slice of Canarian life is Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which is the island’s capital. It is also the venue for an impressive carnival in February.
