We rarely see discounts on treks as unusual as this one -- Experience the Himalayas has chipped 40% off a Mount Everest Base Camp trek. This deal now costs £599 per person and includes an itinerary that'll have you rooting for your hiking gear.

Take on the world's tallest mountain and trek to Everest Base Camp. It's here that you'll overlook of Himalayan Mountains and glaciers, experience the unique and vibrant Sherpa culture and stay in tea houses in remote mountain villages.

This tour includes:

  • Accommodation in a 3-star+ hotel in Kathmandu
  • Accommodation in tea houses in the mountains
  • Airport transfers
  • Trekking permits
  • Breakfast on each day
  • Guides and porters
  • Tour of Kathmandu
  • Return flights to Lukla airport

On day two of your trip, a small airplane will fly you from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest Region. This is an excellent photo opportunity, as you'll have views over Mount Everest and the Himalayas.

On day 11 you’ll stand at the highest point of the trip -- the summit of Kala Patthar, at 5545m above sea level -- and admire the sweeping views of Mount Everest. Click here to see a detailed itinerary.

Out of the total of 18 days, 14 of them will be spent in the mountains trekking. This includes three acclimatisation days where you'll sleep at the same teahouse and altitude as the previous night. During the acclimatisation days, you have the option of exploring remote villages, putting your feet up and relaxing, or doing a side trek for the day in the surrounding mountain trails.

The nights can be cold as the temperature plummets, however the tea houses are solid and often have log fires and areas to relax or enjoy a game of cards with your fellow travellers. Groups consist of no more than 16 people, which ensures a more intimate trekking experience.

Due to the high altitude, this trek is described as "strenuous" as it could be physically demanding for some travellers. Travellers who feel like this could be a struggle could consider the Everest Base Camp Longer Acclimatisation Trek.

The trip departs on 9 March. Depart on 5, 26 October and 9 November for an extra £150 per person. This deal doesn't include international flights, but we found competitive fares with Fly.com. There is no supplement for solo travellers.
