Join more than 85 of the nation's finest chefs and mixologists for the 2011 Meals on Wheels Celebrity Chef Ball, one of Chicago's longest-running culinary fundraisers. Hosts this year include local chefs Stephanie Izard (Girl & the Goat), Chris Pandel (The Bristol) and Paul Virant (VIE and Perennial Virant). For $99 per person, this exclusive Travelzoo offer includes a ticket to the Chef's Tasting Party ($125), VIP express admission, one complimentary welcome cocktail and entry into a private raffle to win a Travelzoo Local Deals package, a total value of $160.
The 23rd annual event will be held Oct. 14 from 8 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. at the historic Macy's on State Street. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Meals on Wheels Chicago.
Attendees can savor countless chef tastings, premium cocktails, wine and beer; partake in a silent auction; and live it up with casino gaming, an interactive photo station and music from a live band and Chef-DJ David Ochs from acclaimed restaurant Girl & the Goat. Chefs will represent dozens of Chicago's top-rated restaurants, including GT Fish & Oyster, Paris Club and The Purple Pig, along with those from Miami, Louisville and Portland.
Each year, the Celebrity Chef Ball raises more than $200,000 for Meals on Wheels, which supports Chicago's home-bound elderly and disabled. The organization generates almost one-third of its annual revenue at the ball, which in turn helps provide more than 70,000 meals to home-bound senior citizens.
