The Deal

Since opening in January 2010, Karyn's on Green serves upscale vegan cuisine in a chic West Loop loft space, and also features a full bar serving organic wine and craft beer alongside updated classic cocktails. For $25, two people can dine on a three-course vegan meal, regularly $57.

A Chicago Reader critic praised the Karyn's dining experience as being "one of the most graceful, pleasant meals" they've had in a long time, while Time Out Chicago says the restaurant is "one of the most gorgeous to open in Chicago in recent memory."

The dining room features a large 22-seat bar, a communal table and a waterfall sculpture to set the stage for the meat-, dairy- and fish-free meal to come, with options like:

• Any appetizer or pizza to share, like the "chorizo" sliders made from portobello mushrooms, frisee, chipotle aioli and tomato-pepper jam

• Any two large plates, like the popular "crab cakes" made with baby bok choy a la plancha, rosemary aioli and yukon gold pepperonata; or the staff-recommended sweet pea risotto made with white truffle oil, pea pods and sweet peas

• Any dessert to split, like the signature chocolate terrine with cranberries, salted cashew-vanilla mousse and raspberry sorbet
