The quality of food and the service.

Bagatelle - L.A. is an upscale restaurant with quality food, friendly and good service. The music is upbeat and loud, more suitable for younger couples in their 20's and 30's but not a quiet diner's paradise.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. We were so disappointed that honestly we decided that this doesn't count and we will do it again the following weekend at a restaurant that hopefully has more delicious food and better service. Where shall I start? We had a reservation at 7:30. We had to wait for 30 minutes to be seated. When we walked in the restaurant was empty, literally there were may be 2 other tables that were filled. We ordered tuna tartar, filet mignon , truffle chicken, truffle fries. Tuna tartar was ok, filet was ok, but it came with mushrooms filled in a terrible sauce. The chicken had no flavor whatsoever. The fries were really blunt and had a really bad after taste. I didn't even know you could screw up fries so bad. Honestly, McDonald's and in-n-out fries taste a LOT better, oh and not to mention that the side of fries is $12. Then we went on to order a desert, which was recommended by our waiter. We ordered pastries filled with ice cream (sorry, i don't remember the name) and they tasted like they were old. Seriously, desert from trader joe's or Ralph's taste MUCH better. We also ordered 2 green green teas to go with our desert and were brought one mint and jazmin tea instead. So we never got green teas. Our waiter was not best waiter we have ever had to say the least. Kept messing things us. He kept asking if we wanted to order more, i mean, how much more does one need? i felt like he was pushy. Also took forever to get the check. Also when i was making reservation on the phone I was asked if we were celebrating any kind of special occasion, so I mentioned it was our anniversary. During whole dinner it was never mentioned in any way. I thought they would do something nice for us when it came to desert time, nope, nothing, nada. Stay away from this overpriced place with terrible food and service! Honestly food from grocery store tastes 100 times better than here! Yes, it was his bad!!!
