Beautiful hotel. Built in 1905 as a former Vermont governor's mansion, the management has done an excellent job of keeping the entire building and all rooms as original as possible. The atmosphere makes this a very special place to go. There is a beautiful library room with a large ornate fireplace that makes it a special place to relax and read that book you have been wanting to read, but just never find the time to. You can order a drink while you are there relaxing or use your laptop as this room has wireless for you. The Dining Room makes dinner a special occasion with an excellent menu.. For those who have to be more money conscious, ask about the nightly specials. Definitely can recommend going here, especially for that "special occasion".

Besides minor cosmetic issues (Wallpaper peeling in the room and hallways), it was a nice place to escape to

I love the historical building!

This trip I only stayed at the Castle and ate in the dining room. I've stayed more than a dozen times and love the place. The heating system (one boiler for the building) can be problematic. There are additional heat/AC units in most buildings. The heat builds in the middle of the night from time to time. I've resorted to cracking the window to let a bit of cold air in. The building is more than 110 years old and I allow for that! Love the place!
