The Deal

STLToday.com calls Augusta's Mount Pleasant Estates winery a "premier event destination [with] plenty to see and do," and FeastSTL reports that they recently won 18 medals including Gold Medal and Best Buy nods from the Beverage Tasting Institute.  With this deal, two can taste award-winning vintages then select a bottle to share for $19, regularly $33.

This experience starts with a guided tasting by winery staff featuring a selection of five Mount Pleasant samples per person: white wines, then progressing to reds like the Norton, made from Missouri's official state grape then finishing with dessert wines. Patrons will learn the "Six S's" of wine tasting: Sight, swirl, smell, sip, swallow, and finally, stemware. Tasting notes are provided, so patrons can discern flavors and aromas like the professionals. 

After the tasting, select a bottle of Mount Pleasant Estates wine to take home (up to $21) like the Vignoles Estates, featuring aromas of banana cake and cream soda, the Claret Estates with notes of blueberry, or the Vintage Port, a hearty dessert wine with sweet and tart raspberry flavors. Wine can be enjoyed at home, or split in the tasting room or on the patio (weather permitting) with views of the Missouri River valley.
