The Deal

Encino's Prohibition Burgers and Beer opened last month, and now you and a friend can taste its, well, burgers and beer for less than half the regular cost. This deal lets two people choose from the entire menu for $25. Pick a pair of appetizers/sides, four sliders or two burgers, and two microbrews, regularly $58 total, while taking in the Prohibition-meets-2011 decor.

Choose from the all-natural, made-fresh-daily selections:

• Two appetizers/sides, including garlic or sweet potato fries, or the crispy mozzarella balls

• Two burgers or duo of sliders, such as the most popular burger, the John Dillinger with caramelized onions, applewood bacon and three cheeses; or the runner-up, the Bugsy Siegel, a turkey burger with avocado, Swiss and garlic aioli. This deal also includes the weekly burger specials

• Two beers chosen from a list of 35 Californian, American and international brews and microbrews, such as Goose Island Matilda or Unibroue Maudite, or two glasses of wine or sodas

This hip eatery on Ventura Boulevard mixes elements of modern and Prohibition-era design, including backlit walls, 1927 newspaper clippings, copper bar tops and old black and white movies playing on flat-screens.
