The Deal

We've negotiated an exclusive deal for Travelzoo subscribers to set sail on a full-day whale-watching cruise around the scenic Coronado Islands. For $69 per person, this excursion ventures south into Mexican waters and back as a naturalist narrates the sights along the way, including migrating gray whales in peak season. This trip with Pacific Nature Tours, with breakfast, lunch and a late-afternoon snack included, is regularly $195.

Passengers board the luxury 70-foot boat at 9 a.m. and dine on a continental-style breakfast of fresh fruit, bagels and muffins. The tour circumnavigates the four Coronado Islands off Baja Mexico (a passport is not required). Get up-close views of the elephant seals that inhabit South Island and various species of birds that flock there, including oystercatchers and blue-footed boobies. Along the way, spot gray whales and other marine wild life, like seals, sea otters and dolphins.

Break from sight-seeing for an off-shore lunch on the boat, which includes burgers, sandwiches and chips. Unlimited fountain sodas and coffee are also included. The tour resumes to spot more wildlife and ends with late-afternoon snacks before returning to port.
