The Deal

For $29 per couple, Travelzoo subscribers can go on a 1.5-hour wine-tasting experience at Eagles Nest Winery in Ramona. This deal includes tastings of five wines and three ports each, plus gourmet appetizers, a behind-the-scenes tour of the winery and vineyards and a bottle of wine to take home that's worth more than the cost of this entire deal. This package is regularly $80.

Eagles Nest is a family-owned and operated winery with panoramic views of the growing Ramona Valley wine region, just 30 minutes outside downtown San Diego. With this deal, receive:

• Five wine tastings per person: Learn about and sample some of the medal-winning vintages from the San Diego International Wine Competition and the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition

• Three port tastings per person, such as the gold medal 2007 Starboard Cabernet Sauvignon Ruby Port (tastings are based on availability)

• A selection of appetizers to complement the wine tastings, such as gourmet cheeses, crackers, Grissini with sweet-tart pepper jelly and chocolate (food offerings are subject to change)

• A behind-the-scenes tour of the winery, oak barrels and vineyards (which the San Diego Reader calls "immaculate"). Your tour guide will explain the history of the area and winery as you take in the panoramic views of the surrounding valley and grasslands
